Synopsis –

One year after defending Berk from Drago, Hiccup and Toothless continue to rescue captured dragons in order to bring them back to Berk and create a bustling dragon and human utopia. Unfortunately, their efforts have also resulted in the island becoming severely overpopulated with dragons. In a response to the overcrowding, Hiccup desires to find the “Hidden World”, a safe haven for dragons that his late father Stoick told him about. Meanwhile, a white Fury dragon, held captive by warlords, is given to infamous dragon hunter Grimmel the Grisly as bait for him to capture Toothless for the warlords’ use as an alpha.

“How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is a fond farewell to the beloved animated film franchise”

“How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is a fantastic, visually stunning and poignant way to end this beloved trilogy. While the young characters remain joyously funny, this finale also adds mature notes to their story of friendship. The franchise has, like its audience, grown up, and to that end this film grapples with more complex themes than before, making for a truly satisfying yet bittersweet conclusion”

“How to Train Your Dragon 3 is a simple movie with a complex execution”

“The original How to Train Your Dragon was a wonder, a joyous, funny, heartfelt film that felt like the beginning of a whole new era for DreamWorks. Instead, it’s become a platform for the studio to keep churning out familiar work. This film feels like the studio wanted it to be the next step in its development toward more ambitious stories. Instead, it’s a gorgeous hangout movie. There are worse things to be. But there are better ones, too, and at its best, DreamWorks has proved that”

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

By Vulture

“This premise isn’t particularly original, but it does promise a kind of closure, and The Hidden World leans into that idea. Hiccup is thinking of settling down with his sweetheart Astrid, voiced by America Ferrera, and even Toothless gets to fall in love this time. Everybody’s growing up and thinking of leaving Hogwa — er, Berk. But even for that familiar setup to find some emotional purchase, you need an audience who engages with these characters. And despite the visual splendor of this movie — the beautifully animated creatures and elegantly imagined settings — what will ultimately determine whether you respond to this final How to Train Your Dragon is how well you remember the earlier entries. For some, it’ll be a moving conclusion to an epic series. For others, it’ll be one less kids’ franchise to worry about”
