Reviews –

It’s difficult not to compare the two “Pet Sematary” movies, as they both showcase a certain level of confidence when adapting a story that involves unspeakable acts of violence involving children and animals. The tale has never been one for the easily offended, and Lambert tried to push such ugliness as far as she could without losing the audience, remaining in the King realm while dealing with the real-world agony of bereavement. It was a pitch-black feature, but also textured with the author’s strange ways concerning supernatural events.

Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) has left Boston to become an attending doctor at a small university, bringing along his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz), daughter Ellie (Jeté Laurence), son Gage (Hugo and Lucas Lavoie) and their cat, Church. They’re getting used to the slower pace of country life, complete with the town’s ad hoc pet “sematary” and an eccentric but sweet neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), who clues them in on their new world.

By Common Sense Media
A few scenes (including nightmare sequences) show blood dripping/gushing. Characters die, and a dead cat and a nearly dead bird are seen. A gun is shown, and a gunshot is heard. Language includes several uses of “f–k,” “s–t,” “damn,” and more. A married couple kisses and embraces playfully and passionately in bed. A character smokes cigarettes, and several people drink whiskey (one glass is drugged with a sleeping powder).
